Thank you for your interest in the Jackson School of Geosciences. If you are a current high school student who hopes to join the Jackson School as an incoming freshman, please select Geological Sciences during the process of your undergraduate application to The University of Texas at Austin. Additional application information can be found on the UT Office of Admissions website.

Undergraduate students who are already enrolled at The University of Texas at Austin may enter the Jackson School through an internal transfer process which occurs twice a year. Please visit the Jackson School’s Internal Transfers webpage for details about the internal transfer process, deadlines, and upcoming information session dates to learn more about our school and programs.

Entrance to the Jackson School as an undergraduate follows standard UT procedures as outlined in the UT Austin General Information and Undergraduate Catalog.

How to Visit and Connect with the Jackson School

The Jackson School of Geosciences encourages high school students and transfer students to visit campus and connect with us at any point during the year. To coordinate a campus visit or speak with us directly about your goals and interests, please complete our prospective student interest form. A member of our student services staff will reach out shortly thereafter. The UT Office of Admissions also holds events and tours for prospective students throughout the year and registration information can be found on their website. For the Jackson School of Geosciences, please make sure to check out our own calendar of scheduled events. If you register for a Jackson School event, please make sure to complete our prospective student interest form so we can make sure to connect. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend campus events and visits.
