As a volcanologist and geochemist, I am broadly interested in utilizing volcanic gases and magmatic volatiles to study a variety of volcanic and magmatic processes, from magma reservoir evolution and eruption dynamics to mantle melting and chemical evolution of Earth's interior. Currently, my research focuses on volcanic gas geochemistry, with an emphasis on sulfur isotope systematics in magmatic-hydrothermal systems and their applications to volcanic monitoring and eruption forecasting.
Prior to beginning my Ph.D., I earned my M.S. from Western Washington University, where I studied melt inclusions from Augustine Volcano, Alaska. My masterÂ’s research examined volatile contents and magmatic storage conditions using melt inclusion geochemistry, thermobarometry, and hygrometry to reconstruct pre-eruptive magma evolution. By integrating petrologic and gas geochemical approaches, my work seeks to improve our understanding of volatile behavior in volcanic systems and its role in driving volcanic unrest and eruptions.
