Seth Busetti
Seth Busetti's expertise is in structural geology with an emphasis on reservoir geomechanics. Before coming to UT-BEG, Dr. Busetti worked in industry for 15 years focusing on problems worldwide related to faults, fractures, and geomechanics and their relationship to operations. Application topics have included structural characterization (faults, fractures, and mechanical stratigraphy), hydraulic fracturing, induced seismicity and microseismicity, rock mechanics characterization, containment and geomechanical hazards analysis, and production optimization and exploration screening. Active research interests focus on the integration of three-dimensional geological modeling, applied geomechanics, and computational modeling including finite element, boundary element, and discrete fracture modeling, with application to fluid flow in fractured and faulted systems and operationally induced earthquakes.
