Postdoctoral Fellows Programs

Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) Postdoctoral Fellowships

The Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for postdoctoral research positions as Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) Scholars, a new program at the Jackson School designed to build integrated approaches to addressing major societal issues. Postdoctoral scholars will collaborate with researchers and faculty across the Jackson School on one of three strategic research themes designed to enhance the impact of current research throughout the school. Applicants will be evaluated based on their past research contributions and how their proposed work integrates with or expands upon ongoing and innovative research within the chosen SIP area, as well as the broader efforts of the Jackson School of Geosciences.

The Jackson School of Geosciences at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for two separate postdoctoral fellowship programs. These highly competitive institutional awards are open to recent doctorates (degree within the past 5 years) in Earth, atmospheric, oceanic, cryospheric and planetary sciences or allied fields. Appointments are for two years, contingent upon performance. Recipients of this fellowship will join a vibrant community of postdocs, students and faculty where they are expected to pursue self-directed research in any scientific subfield.

Currently there are no open positions, but the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin regularly recruits creative, enterprising, collaborative, and community-engaged postdoctoral scholars to conduct independent research on topics that advance our understanding of Earth as a system.
