The Jackson School offers many ways for employers to connect with students about your company’s opportunities. Having a diverse variety of recruiting activities allows employers to broaden their reach, share information about your organization, and make meaningful connections with our students and other industry professionals. See below for all of the ways to get involved in Jackson School recruiting!

September 4th through October 6th, 2023
Texas Geosciences Career Fair 2023
Visit us this at our on-campus career fair this fall and recruit from our very skill and talented student population! We have undergraduate and graduate students studying geosciences, earth science, and environmental science. At the career fair, you will have the opportunity to meet with students one-on-one, share information about your organization, and discuss available positions and internships. This is an excellent opportunity to network with students and other industry professionals, and to gain visibility and exposure for your organization.
Who: The Texas Geosciences Career Fair will be open to all UT students, with a high concentration of Jackson School undergraduates and graduate students. Companies involved in the following industries are encouraged to register: oil & gas, environmental consulting, renewable & new energy, natural resource management, machine learning & data sciences, earth sciences, etc.

Texas Geosciences In-person Mixer
Who: This is a signature networking event for Jackson School of Geosciences students. You will have the opportunity to meet with students one-on-one, share information about your organization, and discuss available positions and internships. This is another excellent opportunity to network with JSG students to gain visibility and exposure for your organization.
When: September 6, 2023 from 6:00pm-8:00pm
Where: The Holland Family Student Center inside the Jackson School of Geosciences Building (JGB 2.102)

Company Information Sessions
Employers interested in increasing their visibility to students are welcome to host a company information session for our students. This session allows employers to connect with our students, inform them of your opportunities, and start to build a professional network with our students.
Information sessions for Jackson School students are held in the time slots of 5:00pm-6:15pm or 6:30pm-7:45pm Monday-Thursday during the peak fall 2023 recruitment season.
If you’re interested in hosting a company information session, please fill out the following request form. Our Career Services Office will reach out with more information 2-3 business days after submitting the form.

On-Campus Interviews
The Jackson School of Geosciences offers employers the opportunity to conduct interviews on campus with our highly competitive student body. Whether for internships, part-time, or full-time positions, on-campus interviews are a great opportunity to interact with top candidates.
On-campus interviews for the fall 2023 peak recruitment season can take place Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm. Interviews can be conducted for a either a portion or the entirety of the day.
Note: Employers conducting on-campus interviews will need to create their own student interview schedules and submit them to the Career Services Office at least 24 hours ahead of their interview day(s).
