Make the most of your time at the Texas Geosciences Career Fair by preparing before you arrive.
Who will be at the Career Fair?
Review the list of participating companies below before the fair and identify the employers you most want to meet. Don’t limit yourself only to companies you already recognize! You may discover organizations and career paths you haven’t considered before.
Research Employers Before You Arrive
Once you’ve identified companies that interest you, visit their websites and search for them on LinkedIn. Learn what they do, where they operate, the types of positions they hire for, and any current projects or opportunities that interest you.
Come prepared with a few thoughtful questions. A little research can make it much easier to start a conversation with a recruiter!
Create Your Career Fair Strategy
You don’t need to visit every employer. Choose several priority companies you definitely want to meet, along with a few others you’d like to explore. Use the Texas Geosciences Career Fair Map to locate employers and plan your route through the fair.
Jobs & Internships
Students can search and apply for full-time and internship opportunities through 12twenty@Texas, UT Austin’s campus-wide career management platform. Before the fair, log in to your account, update your profile, upload your current resume, and search for positions and employers that interest you.

Important: Not every employer attending the Career Fair will have a position associated directly with the fair. Some employers may provide students with separate application instructions or a QR code at their booth. Be sure to ask recruiters about their application process and next steps.

Padfolio Checkout
Need a professional padfolio for carrying your resumes and taking notes? Portfolios will be available for students to check out for use during the Career Fair.
Backpack Check
Don’t carry a heavy backpack around the fair! Students may check their backpacks and other allowable belongings while attending the event and pick them up before leaving.

Use the Career Fair Map to find participating employers and plan your route through the room.
Before You Walk In
Bring several copies of your resume, dress professionally, have your elevator pitch ready, and know which employers you want to visit. Most importantly, be curious. You don’t need to have your entire career figured out! The Career Fair is an opportunity to explore, ask questions, make connections, and learn what’s possible.

Career Fair registration is live for companies and employers! Registration occurs on the new UT system 12Twenty@Texas, found here.
Before registering for the fair, all new recruiters must first claim and verify their 12Twenty@Texas account. This is a UT Austin-wide requirement for recruiters who are new to our programs. If you participated in the fair last year, you likely already have an active account.

Texas Geosciences Career Fair Details
What is the overall cost?
- Corporate/ For-Profit Company Booth: 1050.00
- Non-Profit/ Government: Federal/State/Local Booth: 525.00
What is Included?
- 4 recruiters (max 6 per booth)
- 6′ deep x 10′ wide booth space with a 6’ table
- Conference style pipe & drape
- 1 printed sign with company name
- Catered breakfast, lunch and coffee/tea/ and water stations

Arrival time
The career fair officially begins at 10:00 a.m.; however, recruiters are welcome to arrive as early as 7:00 a.m. to set up their booths and enjoy breakfast prior to the start of the event.
Freight shipping
All companies who are registered and have made their payments will receive shipping instructions from Lone Star Decorating ahead of the career fair.
Please do not ship items to the Jackson School Building or to Career Services.
Parking that day
Career Services will not provide parking passes. Ride-sharing is strongly encouraged due to campus construction and very limited parking availability.
