Annual Events
Texas Geosciences Career Fair (Fall): A premier recruiting event for geoscience students at UT Austin, connecting them with employers from energy, environmental, and geotechnical industries for job and internship opportunities.
Geosciences Industry Night (Fall): An annual networking event that connects geoscience students with industry professionals in an informal setting. Through meaningful conversations and relationship-building opportunities, participants explore career pathways, discuss emerging industry trends, and gain insight into internship and employment opportunities across the geosciences sector.
UT-Austin Quant Night (Fall and Spring): Hosted by the Graduate Schools Office of Career and Life Design is a biannual event that brings together graduate students and industry professionals through expert panel discussions and an evening networking reception. The event typically attracts Jackson School graduate students with strong quantitative backgrounds and interests in data science, finance, energy analytics, and related fields, creating valuable opportunities for career exploration, industry insight, and professional connections.
Custom Employer Engagement Opportunities
Lobby Day / Jackson School Employer Spotlight
Connect with students in the Holland Family Student Center during peak hours (11 AM–2 PM).
Connect with students between classes in a casual setting designed to foster conversation, networking, and organizational visibility.
Company Information Sessions
Held in the evening (recommended start time: 5 PM, duration: ~1 hour).
Employers are responsible for providing refreshments, if desired.
Mock Interviews, Informational Interviews, & Coffee Chats
Available between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., these engagement opportunities provide employers with a meaningful way to connect with students in a casual, low-pressure environment. Whether offering interview practice, sharing career insights, or building relationships over coffee, these interactions help students explore career paths while allowing employers to identify and engage emerging talent.
Externship Host
Host your organization as a site visit for students for a half-day or full-day experience. Externships take place during students’ winter break and provide an opportunity for meaningful exposure to your workplace, company culture, and career pathways.
