What We Do

The Jackson School Career Services office offers support to Jackson School students by guiding them with career-planning. Our office offers a variety of services and resources that can will help you prepare for your future.

Who We Serve

Current Jackson School students

• JSG Career Services have a wide range of resources to guide enrolled JSG undergraduate and graduate students with the internship and job search process. Whether it’s reviewing your resume or helping you plan for graduate school, we encourage students at all stages of career planning to visit our office.

Jackson School Alumni

•  Alumni who are early-career scientists may find entry-level positions on Handshake that are aligned with the degree received at the Jackson School of Geosciences. Depending on career experience, alumni are also encouraged to research job opportunities through professional organizations, like AAPG, SEG, GSA and AGU. The HookedIn online networking platform is useful for making professional connections with Jackson School and UT-Austin Alumni. If you are an early-career alum, less than 3 years out of your program, you may set up a 30-minute career consultation with the Career Services Director. If you are an experienced professional out of school it is advised you utilize the robust career resources provided by Texas Exes.
