The Bureau Combats COVID-19

March 19, 2020

As of this writing, our nation and the world are managing COVID-19. The Bureau of Economic Geology is doing its part to mitigate the spread of the virus and to keep its team of researchers and staff safe. The hope of all of us here at the Bureau is that our many friends, partners, and supporters are also safe and illness-free.

The Bureau takes the COVID-19 situation very seriously and is well-structured and well-equipped to implement and manage safety protocols. Although our facilities are technically closed, and “social distancing” practices are in force, Bureau staff are actively working from home, and ongoing operations continue as effectively as possible.   Vital experiments continue in a few of our labs under the strictest safety protocols, and important energy, environmental, and economics research is still being carried out to the extent possible.

For any questions about Bureau operations during this difficult time, please contact Associate Director Jay Kipper, and for media inquiries, please contact Mark Blount, External Affairs.

From the Bureau of Economic Geology family: Thank you for your continued interest in our important research and for your ongoing support. Please stay safe!
