Emergency Housing and Computer Needs for JSG Students

Jackson School students,

As we are preparing to return to class remotely on March 30, we are aware that the transition will not be easy. You can expect to hear from your professors on or before Friday, March 27, regarding their plans for remote courses. Faculty members will work directly with each of you on specific needs for remote learning during this time. These are difficult times, but returning to your studies is important, and the Jackson School of Geosciences and The University of Texas at Austin are committed to assisting in any way we can. We understand that housing and computer needs could be pressing issues for students preparing to return to class remotely. There are resources available for both, as well as other needs, including medical bills, food, family emergencies and more:

  • If you have an issue with housing and need to request emergency on-campus housing, please click here. The application deadline will close at 8:00 AM on Wednesday, March 25. The university will respond to requests within two business days. Students will be notified via email regarding their request.
  • If you don’t have internet access or a computer that you can work from, please complete the Student Emergency Fund form to let us know you have equipment and/or internet service needs.

Thank you,

The Jackson School Leadership
