Applications for internal transfer to the Jackson School of Geosciences are only accepted during the spring semester for admission the upcoming fall (JSG only admits students during fall). Students must have GEO 401 (or 303) and CH 301 or at least be enrolled in them during the spring semester they apply. Students must also be ready to begin calculus, but the more calculus they have completed, the better (Ex. M408K,L,M or M408C,D).
Students must have completed 24 hours in residence at UT and have a minimum 2.75 GPA in order to apply and the people we admit are usually closer to 3.3-3.6 GPA or higher (depends on pool).
