Gateway to Graduate Studies in Science (G2S2)
November 6-7, 2025
The Jackson School of Geosciences (JSG) at The University of Texas at Austin invites aspiring graduate students from all STEM majors and backgrounds to apply for the JSG Gateway to Graduate Studies in Science (G2S2) program, taking place November 6-7, 2025, in person in Austin, Texas.
Please Note: This program is in-person and based in Austin, Texas. As a result, we are only able to accept applications from domestic students. It is intended for recent graduates or students who are nearing completion of their undergraduate degrees.
About G2S2:
G2S2 offers a unique opportunity to:

Network with JSG faculty and research scientists whose work aligns with your interests

Connect with current JSG graduate students through panels and social mixers

Learn about the graduate school application process, funding opportunities, and how your background in Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, or other STEM fields can be applied to graduate degrees in the Jackson School.
This is a fully funded event — your travel to Austin, lodging, and meals will be covered!
Timeline:
- October 22, 2025: Application Deadline
- All completed applications must be submitted by this date.
- Late applications may not be considered.
- Only your most complete and/or most recent application will be evaluated — there is no penalty for submitting more than one.
- October 23-24, 2025: Application Review
- Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee.
- October 27, 2025: Notification of Selection
- Applicants will be notified of their status via email.
- Selected applicants will receive additional details and instructions.
- October 29, 2025: Confirmation Deadline
- Selected participants must confirm their attendance.
- November 6-7, 2025
