  • William F. Cummins (1840-1931)

William F. Cummins (1840-1931)

W.F. Cummins
W.F. Cummins (right) in 1921

Most often figured as the mule-riding geologist member of the Dumble Survey.

Rode with the Bible in one saddle-bag and a copy of Darwin’s “Origin of Species” in the other. He still preached when not collecting fossils.

Worked extensively in the Permian red beds of northern Texas.
