Your Year-End Gift Shapes the Future of Geoscience

Year End PushLonghorns show up for each other and for the world. That spirit of support is what keeps the Jackson School moving forward.

When you invest in the Jackson School of Geosciences, you help students and researchers tackle the global challenges that define our future, from energy and water to natural hazards and environmental resilience. The world needs geoscientists more than ever, and your support helps them gain the knowledge and hands-on experiences to lead.

Over the past few years, our undergraduate enrollment has more than doubled. This amazing growth brings energy and possibility, along with a greater need for scholarships, field learning, and research support.

We see the impact of giving every day:

Research that matters: A new data center sustainability initiative is helping communities plan responsibly for Texas’s growing tech sector while balancing energy needs with water and land use.

Protecting coasts and communities: Students and faculty studying microplastics along the Texas coast are discovering how tiny particles move through bays and into the Gulf. Their work is helping inform conservation and coastal health efforts.

Learning that lasts: Whether mapping in West Texas or sampling from research vessels, field courses continue to give students transformative experiences that build skill, confidence, and career direction.

If you have already made a gift this year, thank you. Your generosity supports the momentum behind programs like these.

If you have not had a chance yet, we hope you will consider making a year-end gift to help keep these opportunities strong and accessible for every student who chooses the Jackson School. With your partnership, we can continue to open doors, expand knowledge, and inspire future geoscientists.

Thank you for staying connected and for all the ways you support our community. Your belief in the Jackson School means more than you know.
