Summer Academies

Summer Staff

Interested in joining GeoFORCE this summer?

Every year we hire GeoFORCE alumni, geoscience undergraduate & graduate students, and educators to support our week-long summer academies. Each position plays an important role in helping students learn more about the geosciences.

The GeoFORCE Research Group Lead (RGL) is a vital member of our 12th Grade Research Academy. RGLs will spend the week leading a group of approximately 8-12 students from the UT dorms to their research location and back to the group each day. They will play a key role in ensuring the students’ safety each day and night. The RGL is not the lead researcher/leading the students’ learning, however we will try to pair RGLs with a research group they have some background in. RGLs will stay the night at the dorms, have all food and travel covered during the week, and be paid at a full-time rate for 1.5 weeks if they have a GRA.
