Financial Aid & Scholarships
As part of our Transition to College initiative, we help answer questions about FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and other funding opportunities. We also keep you up-to-date with scholarship opportunities, both as high school students and throughout college. To be considered for multiple funding opportunities, please contact: geoforce@jsg.utexas.edu to share the following information: (1) where you plan to attend college and (2) intended major.

Check out our high school scholarship spreadsheet to see some scholarships we encourage our students to apply for. We do our best to update this spreadsheet every year.
During College
Applying for scholarships shouldn’t stop when you enter college. Look into our college student scholarship spreadsheet to apply for more money to help your financial aid package as you continue your college journey.

Undergraduate
UT Austin Jackson School of Geosciences (JSG)
Alumni of GeoFORCE entering the Jackson School of Geosciences at UT Austin receive at least $2,500 scholarship every academic year they are enrolled full-time up to 4 years. To be considered, please contact Tim Weiss, Director of Student Affairs (JSG)
UT Austin College of Natural Sciences (CNS)
CNS is now awarding GeoFORCE alumni who are incoming CNS freshman a scholarship. For further information, please contact Dr. Dan Knopf, Associate Dean for Graduate Education (CNS)
UT Cockrell School of Engineering – Chevron Scholarship
Chevron has donated funds to provide scholarships to undergraduate GeoFORCE alumni who are in the Cockrell School of Engineering. To be considered and for more details, please contact Michelle Mansolo, Director, Engineering Scholarship Program at scholarships@engr.utexas.edu.

Alumni of GeoFORCE Graduate Fellowship for those applying to the following programs:

Application deadlines at UT are typically set around December 1st. The GeoFORCE graduate fellowship deadline is on March 15, 2023.
