SETH BUSETTI
Research Associate Professor

Seth Busetti joined the Bureau of Economic Geology as a research associate professor in September 2025, working with the Center for Injection and Seismicity Research.

His research focuses on the integration of structural geology, reservoir characterization, and geomechanical analysis, with an emphasis on understanding how structural architecture interacts with industry operations.

He specializes in developing geologically informed geomechanics models. He does this by combining traditional field and laboratory characterization techniques and computational modeling including finite element, boundary element, and discrete fracture network methods.

Busetti earned a doctoral degree from the University of Oklahoma. Prior to joining the bureau, he worked for ConocoPhillips and Saudi Aramco in various R&D and technology support roles.
