Computational Geoscientist 

Cameron Cummins is a computational geoscientist for students and researchers in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences. He is a UT alumnus, having completed a Master of Science in geoscience at the Jackson School of Geosciences and a Bachelor of Science in computational engineering at the Cockrell School of Engineering.

Cummins specializes in using open-source Python libraries to optimize big data workflows, using high-performance computing. His research focus is formally in climate modeling and software engineering. However, he has experience in developing software across multiple Earth and planetary science disciplines.
