Applications for Summer 2026 Are CLOSED
Applications Were Due By January 31st, 2026 @ 11:59pm
New applicants for Summer 2026 can expect to hear back about the status of their application by March 1st, 2026. Please email geoforce@jsg.utexas.edu with any questions.
New students are recruited in the 8th grade for the rising 9th Grade Summer Academies. Once a student has been accepted, they are automatically admitted into the following summers until they graduate the program. However, returning students must register before each summer program through Ideal-Logic and complete the necessary forms.
Students currently in 9th and 10th grade may apply as late applicants to fill in empty spots on the 10th and 11th grade summer academies. We do not accept new students currently in 11th or 12th grade.
The applicant must:
- Provide basic information*, including a working email for the student and a parent/guardian.
- Upload their grades from the previous school year.
- Answer several short answer questions pertaining to their interest in STEM, the geosciences, and the GeoFORCE program.

Application Support Sessions
These sessions are created to assist students in the application process for the GeoFORCE Texas program! Students and parents are welcomed to stop by any session and ask a GeoFORCE staff member any questions they may have on the application.
In-Person Support Session Dates:

Student Registrations
Registration For Summer 2026 Will Open In March
All new and returning students are required to register via Ideal-Logic with a parent/guardian each summer. All registration links are private and will be emailed to each individual student & guardian. This is a simple registration process, not a new application.
If students do not complete their registration by the deadline given in the Spring, their spot will be released to a student on the waitlist.
