Graduate Student Executive Committee (GSEC)

Welcome! The Jackson School of Geosciences Graduate Student Executive Committee (GSEC) represents the graduate students within the JSG. We organize community and social activities for the graduate students and work closely with faculty, staff, and other Jackson School student organizations to foster a greater Jackson School community. Please feel free to browse the website and contact us if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.

JSG Student Initiatives

GSEC is the main student-run organiztion for Jackson School graduate students. Our members help to create an includsive, social community for current students and can help guide prospective and new graduate students.

Science Ya'll

Science, Y'all! is a blog run by graduate students in the Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin. The purpose of this blog is to provide graduate and undergraduate students with a platform to share their research and experiences with their peers and the general public.

JSG Peer Support Program

Our goal is to match each incoming graduate student with a current graduate student to introduce incoming students to other JSG grad students, provide support, resources, and to promote community during a time when most, if not all, of our events will be virtual.

Research Symposium

Each Spring, members of GSEC help organize a Research Symposium where Jasckson School students (undergraduate and graduate) present their research to judges comprised of faculty, research scientists, and industry representatives.
