Biography of Investigator

Isabella (“Izzy”) Muller is a first year PhD student at the University of Texas Austin. She completed her BSc in geology at the College of William and Mary in 2020. For her senior thesis, she worked with Dr. Brent Owens on a petrographic and geochemical analysis on a medium-grade biotite gneiss from central Virginia. She completed her MSc in geoscience under Dr. Sean Regan at the University of Alaska Fairbanks in August 2022. Her thesis on the deformational history of the Hatcher Pass schist included SEM training, EPMA X-ray garnet and plagioclase mapping, and forward modeling of garnet and plagioclase assemblages in P-T space. For her PhD, she plans on conducting innovative research in thermochronology and structural geology in Alaska with her advisor, Dr. Richard Ketcham.
