Recent Vertebrate Collection

Skulls from VPL's Recent Vertebrate Collection.

This growing collection consists of approximately 13,000 osteological specimens of extant vertebrate species from all over the world. Its greatest strength is in the mammals of North America, but many other vertebrate groups are represented as well.

Unlike many recent skeletal collections, which contain only skulls, our recent collection includes many complete skeletons. It is one of the best resources in the region for studying postcranial material.
