Natthakorn Konguthaithip is pursuing a master’s degree in geological sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. His current research project involves fieldworks and sample analyses from northern South American Andes, Colombia. He has worked on Detrital Zircons U-Pb techniques for sedimentary provenances analyses. He also seeks to incorporate other geo-thermochronologic methods in his projects to gain deeper insights into the tectonic, surface, and climatic processes in orogenic systems.

I am pursuing a Master’s degree in tectonics through the lens of sedimentology, structural geology, and geochemistry (U-Pb geochronology, trace elements/REEs, and thermochronology). I will be exploring the effects of the subduction of the aseismic Carnegie Ridge on the Interandean Valley of the Ecuadorian Andes. I have previously worked in the Fish Creek-Vallecito Basin in southern California examining the structural deformation by attempting to constrain the different generations of deformation that have inverted and folded the sedimentary basin.
