Alana Pengilley is a doctoral student in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Texas at Austin. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney, Australia. Alana’s interests include lithic analysis and geochemical sourcing of geological and archaeological stone artefacts. Her research is primarily focused on the ancient Maya, but she has previously research and published on assemblages from Papua New Guinea. Alana has previous research experience wth trace element analysis via pXRF which has been published and presented at a number of international conferences on this research. Her current research is supported by grants from the Geological Society of America and internal University of Texas grants.
