Soil Moisture

Using data and computational methods, my research focuses on soil moisture measurement and its application across various fields such as drought and flood.

In-situ measurement:

At Bureau of Economic Geology, we manage Texas Soil Observation Network (TxSON) that provides real-time in-situ soil moisture data for various region in Texas.

Michael, Bissett and I are installing soil moisture and meteorological station in Guy, Texas.

We have developed a method to nowcast soil moisture data over Houston, TX, by combining various data sources that include satellite and in-situ soil moisture data. Read more about the method here.
