BIOGRAPHY
Fangshuai Wu
Fangshuai Wu is a PhD student at the Jackson School of Geosciences. His research focuses on developing ion-exchange materials for lithium recovery from various brines. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada, and a Master of Science in Earth and Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Alberta, Canada. He has extensive experience with analytical instruments such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and GC-MS, as well as characterization techniques including synchrotron X-ray methods, BET, and TGA.

Yihan Li
Yihan is a PhD student at University of Texas at Austin major in Materials Science and Engineering. Her research focuses on rare earth element recovery from natural and industrial waste materials. She has a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Fudan University and Master degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University mainly focusing on battery material and inorganic material synthesis. She is currently using ICP-MS and other microscopic and microfluidic characterization to investigate REEs recovery rate and reaction mechanisms of precipitation to provide mechanistic insights for coal fly ash screening and industrial-scale process optimization.
