Work Experience
Undergraduate Lab Assistant: Jackson School of Geosciences Quadrupole ICP-MS Lab October 2023 – April 2024 supervised by Dr. Nathan Miller
- Organize lab supplies and keep track of samples submitted to the lab
- Prepare samples via dilution when necessary and formulate quality control solutions
- Operate the laser ablation software to set up runs for samples sizes up to 16 per run
Research Experience
Student Intern: Lunar and Planetary Institute June – August 2023 supervised by Drs. Prajkta Mane and Timmons Erickson Secondary Processing in Calcium Aluminum Inclusions (CAIs)
- Analyze the mineralogy and petrology of three separate CAI samples using images obtained with EDS and EBSD on the scanning electron microscope (SEM) over the course of 10 weeks
- Produce quantitative chemical data on mineral phases of interest by utilizing electron micro-probe analysis (EMPA)
- Interpret the post-formation stories of CAIs based on collected data and observations
