Dilge G Kanoglu
I am a graduate of Bilkent University Department of Economics and a student of the interdisciplinary graduate program Earth System Science of Middle East Technical University, with concentration on energy economics and policy.
I have interdisciplinary training in energy economics. I have taken courses from diverse departments including but not limited to Economics, International Relations and the Faculty of Law. During my studies, I took the courses Environmental Economics, World Energy Politics; Environment, Climate Change and Sustainable Development, and Energy Policy and Finance, which all provided an extensive coverage of policies associated with energy use. As part of Analytic Writing for Economist, for which later I became a teaching assistant, I wrote policy proposals and strategy documents for prevalent social matters associated with urbanization and economic development. I also expanded my studies to mathematical modeling, an area in which I have displayed competent skills. To this end, I took graduate level courses in statistics, econometrics, and mathematics. I believe that my familiarity with quantitative methods allow me to evaluate issues more realistically.
I am a researcher in two projects funded through the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme namely, Nature4Cities (Nature Based Solutions for re-naturing cities: knowledge diffusion and decision support platform through new collaborative models), and SHAPE-ENERGY (Social Sciences and Humanities for Advancing Policy in European Energy).
