Mr. W. George Coyle leads ConocoPhillips Technology Ventures investing activity, usingventure capital to accelerate the commercialization of new energy technologies that improvethe performance and sustainability of ConocoPhillip’s upstream assets. Before joiningConocoPhillips, George raised $35 million in venture capital as the CEO of a start-up companywith patented flexible composite pipe technology and subsequently deployed the technology intooil & gas projects in West Africa, South Africa, SE Asia and Brazil. George began his careerat Chevron, where he worked 19 years, starting as a geophysicist and holding positions ofincreasing responsibility in exploration, business and strategic planning, information technology,asset management, new ventures and corporate venture capital. George received his BS in EarthSciences from the University of New Orleans, an MS in Geology (Geophysics Option) from theUniversity of Kansas and an MBA from Tulane University.
