Harrington Symposium Publications:

Participants are encouraged to extend their abstract and submit to open access IOP (Institute of Physics) Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES), published by IOP Publishing.

All papers will be free to read and download immediately upon publication. Papers published in EES will be hosted in IOP Publishing's electronic journals system and will be fully citable – in addition, citations will also be tracked online.

Preparing your paper:

IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (EES) uses author-supplied PDFs for all online and print publication. Authors are asked to prepare their papers using Microsoft Word or LaTeX2e according to the EES guidelines. The guidelines are available here.

Authors should supply their papers directly to Dr. Elizabeth Catlos (ejcatlos@gmail.com) who, after peer review, will supply the accepted papers to EES.

Where to send your paper:

Papers for publication in the proceedings should be sent no later than Friday, May 23, 2008 to Dr. Catlos. Papers should have a minimum of 4 pages and a maximum of 6 pages.

All abstracts can be extended, including those that were presented as posters during the Workshop.

EES encourages authors to submit multimedia files to enhance the online versions of published research articles. There are no fees or charges for including multimedia items with your paper. In addition, there are no fees or charges for color figures.

What to email:

1. The PDF file of your paper written according to EES guidelines and templates.
2. Please do not add any page numbers, headers or footers to your article as these will be added during the publication process.
3. Any multimedia files you wish to publish online.
4. A signed Assignment of Copyright Form. The Assignment of Copyright Form is also included in the Word and LaTeX2e templates. Send it electronically to Dr. Catlos (as a PDF) by scanning the printed and signed form.
5. Any recommendations for peer review.

If all goes well, we expect all extended abstracts to be published 4-6 weeks after May 23.
