What We Do: Summer Academy

GeoFORCE Texas Summer Academies are based on a program operated by Fort Valley State University in Georgia that has a 20-year proven record of success.

Through coursework and hands-on field trips led by university professors, Jackson School geology graduate students, and energy industry leaders, the week-long GeoFORCE Texas Summer Academies introduce students to a number of geological concepts.

Students will learn that almost everywhere you go, you can find something of geological interest and that science can be fun. We teach the students how to think and not what to think by showing them that the past is the key to the future.
