Teachers, counselors, and principals are crucial to the success of GeoFORCE. They offer invaluable insight on the students and help distribute applications.

Through two-day professional development workshops and field trips, educators are given a taste of the GeoFORCE Texas program and what it has to offer.

The Jackson School of Geosciences is a certified Continuing Professional Education (CPE) provider. Several opportunities exist to provide educators with GeoFORCE Texas information as well as expand their general knowledge of the geosciences.

Main objectives for educator events:

Provide professional development continuing education credits through workshops and corresponding field activities. This structure mimics the format of the GeoFORCE Texas activities.

Explain GeoFORCE Texas student application and adult application processes and how educators can assist to ensure the best students are involved in the program.

Retrieve completed applications and return them to the GeoFORCE Texas Program coordinators.
