Outstanding students from 8th through 12th grade

GeoFORCE Texas is an amazing summer outreach program that recruits students from economically disadvantaged schools in Southwest Texas and Houston. These are outstanding students from who excel in math & science have the desire and curiosity to learn more. Students are typically recruited from middle schools. One they apply and are accepted into the program, they are given the opportunity to travel across Texas and throughout the country.

Each summer GeoFORCE coordinates 15 field trips to spectacular geologic settings across the Texas and the United States. These field trips allow the students to meet new, inspiring people, gain an understanding of geology and become more aware of possible career paths related to the geosciences.  These trips include locations on the Texas Gulf Coast, the Grand Canyon, the Rocky Mountains, Crater Lake, Carlsbad Caverns, Mt. St. Helens and the Texas Hill Country.

The GeoFORCE Texas application deadline has passes for the Summer 2018 session. The application process opens Oct. 1 and stays open until Jan. 31.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and individual donors, the program is free to all students that are admitted.
