Students

GeoFORCE Texas is an amazing summer outreach program that recruits students from challenged area schools in Southwest Texas and Houston.  These are outstanding students from 8th through 12th grade who excel in math & science, they apply to our program and once accepted & admitted, are given the opportunity to travel other areas in Texas and throughout the country.

Each summer GeoFORCE coordinates 15 field trips to spectacular geologic settings across the state of Texas and the United States.  These field trips allow the students to meet new, inspiring people, gain an understanding of geology and become more aware of possible career paths in or relating to geosciences.  These places include the Florida Keys, the Grand Canyon, the Guadalupe Mountains, Crater Lake, Carlsbad Caverns, Mt. St. Helens and the Appalachian Mountains.

Students can complete a GeoFORCE Texas application NOW!  The application process opens November 1st and will continue to stay open until the January 31st, 2015 deadline.

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and individual donors, the program is free to all students that are admitted.
