Scholarships for Current College Students

Scholarships from GeoFORCE Sponsors

Many of the sponsors of GeoFORCE also offer college scholarships. Several companies distribute these directly through colleges, so be sure to check with your college advisor and financial aid office and apply for scholarships you are eligible for. Below are two that you can apply to directly.

Marathon: Up to $15,000/year, with a possible internship as well. Apply in your Sophomore Year in select geoscience, engineering, and accounting majors, or Senior Year if you are planning graduate school. Applications open in August with an October 1 deadline. HSF Marathon Scholarship

Shell: Up to $5000/year, renewable for 4 years. Offered for specific majors and specific colleges. Incoming Freshmen can apply. applications open in February with an April deadline. Shell Scholarships

Geoscience Scholarships

These are specific to geology majors.

Association of Women Geoscientists, Minority Scholarship: Up to $6000. Deadline June 30th. AWG Minority Scholarship

American Institute of Professional Geologists: Open to all geology majors. $1000. Deadline is Feb 15. AIPG Scholarship

Engineering Scholarships

The Society for Petroleum Engineers has several scholarships for students who plan to study or are already studying petroleum engineering. Due date is April 15, 2015.

The Society for Women Engineers has several scholarships for women who plan to study or are already studying engineering. Application period for current college students is Dec 1, 2014 – Feb 15, 2015.

The National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering has several scholarships for minority students who plan to study or are already studying engineering at partner universities. Application deadline for is March 15, 2015.
