4–5 April 2013
AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center
University of Texas at Austin
The Jackson School of Geosciences at The University of Texas at Austin welcomes you to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the Geological Society of America in Texas’ capital city. Austin is the gateway to the Texas Hill Country, with rolling hills, sparkling waterways, and fascinating geology. This historic city often ranks on top 10 lists of best places to live and visit and is known for being the Live Music Capital of the World® with nearly 200 live music venues. The meeting is located on campus, but close to downtown, and is hosted by one of the largest academic geoscience communities in the world.
The theme of the meeting is Celebrating Advances in Geoscience: Our Science, Our Societal Impact, and Our Unique Thought Processes. The meeting will take a look at how far we have come as a result of scientific and technological advances in the last 50 years as well as predictions for future advances.
Detailed information is here: http://www.geosociety.org/Sections/sc/2013mtg/. Early registration ends 4 March and opportunities still exist to attend the many meeting field trips and short courses!
