Ian Partridge is a PhD candidate at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and a Research Associate at CIEEP. His research covers all aspects of climate change, focusing particularly on financial incentives to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Current projects include work on the economics of carbon capture and storage and a paper on the Clean Development Mechanism of the Kyoto Protocol which has been accepted for presentation at the annual workshop of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, to be held in Washington DC in June 2009. Before joining the University of Texas at Austin, Ian worked in the oil industry, in investment banking and as a consultant – in the latter capacity his clients included the World Bank and oil companies in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela and Angola. He has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; his Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is from Cambridge University, England.
