Dr. Fares Howari is the Middle East Regional Coordinator at the University of Texas Center for International Energy and Environmental Policy; and Environmental Geoscientist at Bureau of Economic Geology, University of Texas at Austin. He received his PhD in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso while working as a research scientist, at the Center for Environmental Resource Management in Texas. He joined Texas A and M University System as an associate research scientist, and then served as an Associate Professor at Faculty Sciences, United Arab Emirates University. He is also Research Fellow at Center for Social Development at Washington University in St. Louis Dr. Howari was the General Secretary of the 6th International Conference on the Geology of the Middle East, Board member of the Gulf Seismic Forum (held in UAE), advisory board for Arab Healthy Water Association. He served as Secretary for the Executive Committee for Water Resources Master Program, UAE University, and as the Supervisor of Environment Society, UAEU. He is the coordinator of the first conference on Water Policy and Associated Technological Challenges in Arid Dynamic Environments: The Special Case of Arabian Gulf Countries. Dr. Howari is an active member at the several societies such as International Association for Environmental Hydrology, International Society for Environmental Technology (ISEG) and other NGOs. He worked as international environmental volunteer in Jordan, UAE, US-Mexico border and other places. Dr. Howari has authored and co-authored more than 40 referred publications.
