Welcome to the Geosciences Career Center at The University of Texas at Austin. The Department of Geological Sciences (one of three units of the Jackson School of Geosciences) has an enrollment of more than 600 undergraduate and graduate students.  Please read through our Employer Guide for important information about the School, our students and the recruiting process.

Our office schedules on-campus interviews for full-time, part-time, and summer internship positions. We also facilitate employer-student interaction by connecting with employers with student groups and by arranging information sessions and technical presentations such as Lunch & Learn events. We host two career fairs each year, one each semester, and have interview rooms available year-round.

These programs and facilities provide you with an excellent way to establish a good relationship with the JSG, enhance your presence on campus, evaluate student talent, and provide job experience to students that may lead to permanent employment with you after graduation. To help employers establish a positive, working relationship with our students, our office follows the NACE (National Association of Colleges & Employers) Principles and guidelines for interviewing and offering jobs to students.  Please read an abbreviated version of these documents here.

We appreciate your interest in the Jackson School of Geosciences and look forward to assisting you with your recruiting needs.
