Dr. Terry Quinn
Dr. Terrence Quinn was appointed interim director of the Institute for
Geophysics at The University of Texas at Austin's Jackson School of Geosciences
in January 2009. Quinn’s expertise centers on using geochemistry to understand
climate variability in the tropical oceans. He is also interested in using
paleoclimate records to explore the full spectrum of natural climate variability
and collaborating with climate dynamicists to investigate how past variations in
the climate system can be used to constrain the prediction of future behavior of
the climate system. Quinn has served on scientific advisory groups of the
Integrated Ocean Drilling Program (Scientific Planning Committee) and the
National Science Foundation (Marine Aspects of Earth System History).
